Discovery - Session 1

This course session is designed to introduce Dental Professionals to the "Biologic Model of Health" as it relates to  the Stomatognathic System. The process of diagnostic disease identification and treatment planning via collection of comprehensive BioData will be developed. Evidence based Treatment Planning will be taught in an organized, systematic approach leading to a consultative process that leads to case acceptance by patients.

Objectives

  • Learn the Biologic differences between Health and Disease
  • Learn causes of tooth wear along with loss of form and function
  • Learn a simplified, systematic documentation to comprehensively evaluate and diagnose patients
  • Diagnostic importance of SCP vs CO vs CR vs MIP
  • Introduction of Biologic Orthopedic Positioners and importance to diagnostic process
  • Learn the 6 Sub-clinical defects common to all inflammatory diseases  including periodontitis and TMD
  • TMJ biology introduction
  • Introduction to CBCTs and Cephalometrics
  • Office organization and patient communication
  • Introduction to Diagnostic Clinical Photography

 

Discovery Session 2

This course session focuses on understanding the differences in splint    therapy and how to choose the correct orthopedic splint when diagnosing patient cases utilizing 6-D parameters. Doctors will learn the significance of neuronal communication within the SMS and the roles the teeth, periodontium, muscles and TMJs play in this orchestrated function. Clinical skills will be developed to complete an orthopedic evaluation of the temporomandibular joints and head and neck.

Objectives

  • 6-D Diagnosis from CO perspective vs SCP perspective
  • Learn how to begin to functionally analyze patient occlusions
  • Introduction to 1st Order-2nd Order-3rd Order Neuronal and SMS Communication
  • TMJ Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology
  • TMJ Orthopedic Examination process
  • Introduction to Pre-treatment CBCT evaluation
  • Biologic Orthopedic Positioner fabrication, insertion and adjustment
  • Introduction of Diagnostic process to Joint Stability
  • Introduction to Equillibration vs SAR (when to do and when not to)
  • Case selection / acceptance / criteria
